Introduction. The problems of reference, truth, and realism are extremely important for contemporary philosophical discourse. Interesting interpretations these have been given by such thinkers as Paul Ricoeur Hilary Putnam. Instead being originally representatives different traditions, Putnam came to similar conclusions on a number the above issues, which allows us speak possible prospect fruitful synthesis two authors' positions. aim this paper is justify theoretical possibility synthesis, namely show how elements Putnam's theory can be improved using Ricoeur's approach, outlined in his concept metaphorical truth. Despite obvious proximity authors, there currently no works where conception truth was compared with philosophy. Methodology sources.
